Year 10 Maths

Abdullah Sahin

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In Term One, Year 10 students worked really hard and did achieve great results in Maths. Students are coming closer to the end of term one and they are busy working on their Maths Project. The Semester Exam will take place in Term Two, so students need to show more effort, thus getting ready for the upcoming exam.

Year 10 students are trying to complete Water Well Project in Cambodia, doing fundraising activities. Students have different ideas such as; cinema nights, kebab sales and Fifa tournament etc.. We did our first fundraising task; a pizza sale and raised $470.

Mr Hasan visited our class and gave a speech about VCE life during Year 11 and 12 and also advice on subject selection. We’d like to thank Mr Hasan for his contributions. He will continue to come throughout the year, to listen students and answer their questions.

The year 9/10 boys were involved in the Moonee Valley District Volleyball Competition. The boys played 3 games over the day at Buckley Park Secondary. It was a tough and testing day for the boys, winning one game and losing the other two by the closest of margins.

The sportsmanship and character the boys showed over the day was phenomenal and a testament to our school’s philosophy.

I would like to thank all the boys for their participation and dedication.

It has been a busy Term One for our primary students who have been treated with Hot Shots Tennis Clinics. The students are being coached by professionals in the tennis industry. The coaches run a four week program, with the school also receiving tennis equipment as part of the clinic. This will give the students the opportunity to further their tennis skills throughout the year.

Welcome to 2017 everyone.

I will be taking Year Seven and Eight Art classes this year and have been impressed by the standard of the students’ drawings. In Year Seven, we have been exploring Art styles such as stippling, line work and colour theory. Our excursion on March 28th will give us an insight into how elements are used. We will also study Egyptology which we will commence in Term Two.

Our Year Eight students went on an excursion and we learnt about the history and architecture of the Federation Square area, one point perspective, and Australian landscapes. This was complimentary to our curricular studies.

I wish everyone an enjoyable year.

Mr Rohan Morrison.
